ABSTRACTEvery industry that seeks to operate effectively and efficiently will require access to material resources, marketing services and other industries including the regency municipality in Central Java Province, which is divided into 6 ex DIS of the center of economic growth (Semarang City). A region located in the area that offer access to the location of the centers of that industryinfluence will have a comparative advantage that is stronger than its competitors to attract industrial units. This study aims to measure the distance from the model and spatial interactions in spatial structure modeling for regional and urban planning. Locational index analysis is used with data either on the constant price basis GDP, the distance between the county town of the former county in the City Semarang. The conclusions of this study is the distance function between area center with growth center have the major influence at the center of transport cost which also a function of the region spatial continuity.ABSTRAKSetiap industri yang berusaha untuk beroperasi secara efektif dan efisien akan memerlukan akses ke sumber daya material, pemasaran dan pusat jasa-jasa industri lain termasuk kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Tengah yang terbagi dalam 6 eks karesidenan terhadap pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi (Kota Semarang). Suatu daerah yang terletak di area yang menawarkan akses ke lokasi pusat-pusat pengaruh industri tersebut akan memiliki keuntungan komparatif yang lebih kuat daripada kompetitornya untuk menarik unit-unit industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung dari model jarak dan interaksi spasial dalam permodelan struktur spasial untuk perencanaan regional dan perkotaan. Analisis yang dipergunakan adalah indeks lokasional dengan data berupa PDRB atas dasar harga konstan, jarak antara kabupaten kota di eks karesidenan dengan Kota Semarang. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah fungsi jarak antara daerah dengan pusat pertumbuhan memiliki pengaruh utama terhadap biaya transportasi disamping itu juga merupakan fungsi kontinuitas spasial daerah.
