The prototype of the crane control based on microcontroller arduino uno
tool is a research that adopts ship activities, especially during the implementation
of the main engine overhaul in the engine room. Overhead cranes are used to
move tools or items in the engine room to a certain desired place.
The research method used is the research and development (RnD) method
to describe the process of making a crane control system props based on the
arduino uno microcontroller. Experiments and direct observations are carried out
in the process of making props control as expected.
The design of the props is done to simplify the manufacturing and
assembly process. The overhead crane has three motion mechanisms, namely
slewing, hoisting and runway. The three mechanisms are driven by DC motors
and servo motors. From the input will be received by the output to be forwarded
to the microcontroller into a command to the motor driver which will control the
direction of rotation and speed of the DC motor. The results of making props that
can be controlled using a smartphone via a bluetooth module and an ATmega328
microcontroller can work optimally at the specified voltage. This tool is expected
to be able to facilitate the understanding of students in studying the working
principles of machinery on board.
