kinerja mesin induk. Permasalahan tersebut diketahui saat akan melakukan test
engine sebelum kapal melakukan manouver, mesin induk di blow up dan keluar
air pendingin dari indicator valve silinder no. 1 mesin induk.
mesin induk silinder no.1 di kapal MV.Spil Hana. Penyebab utama masuknya air

ABSTRACT
Aripin, 2020 "Analysis of the occurrence of a cooling water leak in the combustion
chamber of the main engine MV. Spil Hana ”thesis of Engineering Study
Program, Diploma IV Program, Semarang Shipping Polytechnic, Advisor I:
Nasri, M.T, M.Mar.E and Advisor II: Sri Suyanti, S.S.
The main engine is the main driving machine on the ship which becomes the driving /
driving of the ship so that the ship can go forward or backward according to operation.
The entry of cooling water into the combustion chamber affects the performance of the
main engine. The problem is known when going to test the engine before the ship
maneuvers, the main engine is blown up and cooling water comes out of the cylinder
indicator valve no. 1 main engine.
The purpose of this study was to determine what factors caused cooling water to enter
the combustion chamber of the main engine and determine what efforts were made to
overcome the entry of cooling water into the combustion chamber of the main engine.
The author summarizes the problems and tries to identify the problem using the fishbone
analysis.
There are many reasons for the entry of cooling water into the combustion chamber
cylinder engine No. 1 on the MV.Spil Hana ship. The main cause of the entry of cooling
water into the combustion chamber cylinder No. 1 in the MV. Spil Hana is a cylinder
head wall crack, due to incompatible maintenance with PMS and cooling water quality
that affects the cooling system which causes fatigue of the cylinder head and cylinder
head material which has cracks which affects the performance of the main engine. To
deal with these problems based on research by the author, efforts can be made to care and
replace spare parts in accordance with PMS and maintain the quality of cooling water for
a better cooling system.
