ABSTRACT

Sinar Sumba Based on Lashing Equipment Standards", Nautical Study Program thesis, Diploma IV Program, Semarang Merchant Marine Poltechnic, Advisor I: Capt. H. Ships are chosen as the main means of sea transportation, because shipments of goods can be carried out in large quantities, and costs incurred are smaller than other means of sea transportation. Container ship is a ship specifically designed to transport containers. In container ships it is inseparable from the problem of binding container loads, such as how the binding of container cargo is carried out on the MV. Sinar Sumba, and what causes the implementation of container loading binder is not according to the procedure, which is often found in container ships, especially about lashing equipment.
The method used by researchers to overcome the problem is the method of fishbone analysis. The research data was obtained from primary data and secondary data, while data collection was obtained from observation, interviews, descriptive and literature.
In the study of the analysis of the implementation of binding container loads on MV. Sinar Sumba is based on lashing equipment standards, the implementation is not in accordance with the Standart Operational Prosedure, because in the implementation it is hampered by tools that are less supportive, the lack of lashing equipment to load containers is one of the main causes. Because in its implementation, lashing tools are often lost and lacking. In lashing containers, the lashing gang factor that does not understand the load binding Standart Operational Prosedure is also another cause of the lack of perfect lashing on ships. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the main cause of the process of carrying out the cargo is caused by lack of trainning to the lashing gang and the crew themselves and the lack and loss of equipment lashing container loads.
