Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana peran purchasing
logistics, kendala apa saja yang dihadapi, dan upaya yang dilakukan purchasing
logistics dalam menunjang operasi armada transhipment di PT. Transcoal Pacific
Cabang Sangatta. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun metode
pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka, wawancara, observasi dan
studi dokumen.
Kegiatan transhipment yang cukup padat memerlukan perawatan mesin yang
teratur agar operasi transhipmet tidak terhambat. Kewajiban perusahaan sebagai
pemilik kapal harus menyediakan spare part dan perlengkapan kapal untuk
menunjang perawatan kapal. Perusahaan membentuk bagian dalam struktur
organisasinya yang bertanggung jawab mengurus segala keperluan kapal yaitu bagian
purchasing logistics.
Dalam penelitian ini penulis menjelaskan mengenai peran purchasing
logistics dalam menunjang kegiatan transhipment PT. Transcoal Pacific Cabang
Sangatta dan kendala yang dihadapi serta upaya yang dilakukan oleh purchasing
logistics dalam penyedia spare part dan perlengkapan kapal. Data-data yang
dikumpulkan oleh penulis berupa kata-kata yang bersumber dari orang-orang yang
terkait dengan masalah purchasing logistics dan data-data hasil observasi langsung
penulis.litian
Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan penulis selama melaksanakan Praktek Darat
di PT. Transcoal Pacific Cabang Sangatta, purchasing logistics berperan sebagai
penyedia dan perlengkapan kapal untuk melakukan perawatan kapal agar operasi
transhipment berjalan lancar. Kendala yang dihadapi purchasing logistics dalam
menunjang kegiatan transhipment diantaranya kebijakan perusahaan yang tidak
melakukan penyetokan barang, sistem pembelian terpusat, sistem pedistribusian yang
keliru, letak supplier yang jauh, dan kesalahan dalam pengiriman barang.

This research have purpose to know how far the role of purchasing logistics
is, the obstacles encountered, and the effort of purchasing logistic did to support the
transhipment fleet operation in PT. Transcoal Pacific, Sangatta branch. The types of
research is qualitative descriptive. As for the data collection method used was
literature review, interview, observation and document study
Tigh transhipment activites require regular engine maintenance transhipment
operations are not obstacle. Liability company as the ship owner must provide spare
parts and ship equipment to support the maintenance of the ship. The company
formed a part in the company’s organizational structure responsible for overseeing
all the needs of the ship that is purchasing logistics.
In this research the researcher describes research the role of purchasing
logistics in supporting the activities of transhipment PT. Transcoal Pacific Sangatta
branch and constraints faced and the efforts made by purchasing logistics in the
supply of spare parts and ship equipment. The data collected by the authors in the
form of words that come from the people on issues related to logistics and purchasing
data of the results of direct observation the author.
Based on the results of research by the researcher during the performance at
the project land in PT. Transcoal pacific Sangatta branch, Purchasing logistics role
as provider of spare parts and equipment aboard the vessel in order to perform
maintenance transhipment operations running smoothly. Constraints faced in
purchasing logistics support activities such transhipment company policy which did
stocking goods, centralized purchasing system, erroneous distribution system, the
location of distance suppliers, and fault in delivery goods.
