Boiler adalah suatu permesinan bantu yang berfungsi untuk menghasilkan uap yang digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan di kapal seperti pemanas bahan bakar,pemanas air di kapal. Maka dari itu skripsi ini bertujuan untuk 1) Menganalisis faktor masuknya bahan bakar kedalam sistem pengisian air tawar boiler karena bocornya pada fuel oil heater, 2) Dampak kerusakan dan kebocoran pada fuel oil heater terhadap kinerja sistem pengisian air tawar. 3) upaya untuk mengatasi kerusakan dan kebocoran pada fuel oil heater terhadap pengisian air tawar pada boiler. Metode penelitian yang penulis gunakan adalah metode fishbone analysis dan fault tree analysis, dimana fishbone analysis digunakan untuk menganalisis dari permasalahan, sedangkan fault tree analysis digunakan untuk pembahasan dan menentukan permasalahan.
Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penyebab masuknya bahan bakar ke dalam sistem pengisian air tawar boiler adalah bocornya pipa uap pada fuel oil heater,korosi pada pipa uap, tidak dilaksanakannya perawatan pada air tawar boiler.
Cara mengoptimalkan permasalahan di atas adalah melakukan perawatan secara periodik/berkala terhadap boiler betul-betul dijaga terutama pada system uap bahan bakar dan sistem pengisian air tawar boiler agar uap yang di hasilkan memenuhi syarat uap.

Boiler is one of auxiliary engine that produce steam which will be used to fulfill vessel necessity such as heater for the fuel oil and fresh water. The purpose of this thesis is 1)to analyze the factor of fuel intake to the boiler fresh water filling system due to the leakage of fuel oil heater, 2) impact of leakage and damage on fuel oil heater towards performance of fresh water filling system, 3) the effort to overcome the leakage and damage on fuel oil heater towards fresh water filling in the boiler. This research using fishbone and fault tree anlysis method, where fishbone analysis used to analyze the problem, and fault tree anlysis is used to decide and solve the problem.
The result of this research showed that the cause of fuel oil intake to the boiler fresh water filling system was caused by the leakage of steam pipe on fuel oil heater, corrosion on steam pipe, and less maintenance on boiler fresh water fill system.
Optimization can be done by doing frequently maintenance towards boiler especially on fuel oil steam system and boiler fresh water filling system so the steam can fulfill all of the requirement.
