A vessel in order to maintained a seaworthiness needs a maintenance to all
of the part of vessel. Especially on deck part, therefore it is made a daily
maintenance work organization of deck part where the first officer as a head of
division and the crew as the member. In order to the purpose of company as well
as this organization can be done maximally, therefore a good work management is
needed, also the commitment from company to support achieving the purpose. If
the management is not working well and no commitment from the company so the
result of performance is not optimal and the purpose cannot be achieved.
According to experience while sea project on MV. Meratus Malino a lot of
the performance result of daily ship maintenance that is not optimal and not as
expected because a work management that is not optimal and not arranged.
Thereby writer interested to conduct improvement of daily working management
deck rating observation with combination of two technique analysis which are
fishbone analysis and fault tree analysis (FTA).
Remembering how important the good work management from an
organization to achieve optimal result. In this case observer using fishbone
diagram analysis method to outlines general factors of the not optimal result and
fault tree analysis (FTA) to search the main cause factor of the problem, after the
main cause factor found then a good daily ship maintenance strategy achieved to
get optimal result.
