With the world economy growing, so the using of sea transport to be more
crowded, especially in narrow areas, such straits and canals, or an areas that are
concentrated, such as ports and cross line of the shipping high risk for cruise
accidents, either like the collisions among ships or another cruise dangers such
as wrecks of a ship or run aground into depths shallow.
The implementation of the MV. OMS Semeru movement control should pay
attention of many factor that effect the navigation capabilities than the ship itself,
either the external factors or the factor inside of the ship. The internal and
external influence from the ship itself have an important role for the person who
navigate of the ship as well as the precisely experience in the world navigation of
the ship.
In writing this thesis, the writer expressed using qualitative methods that
produce descriptive data, the implementation of the navigator can be described
clearly and evidently because the data obtained from directly interviews and
supported by the literature method that give a clearly representation of the
information that submitted.
Based on the results of research and discussion of the question problem that
was done by the writer during the sailing practice in the MV. OMS Semeru on
how to control the vessel navigation when entering a narrow channel in the
waters of Teluk Adang East Kalimantan is to check tides and to use a safe speed.
The role of the captain when navigate the ship movement in the waters of Teluk
Adang East Kalimantan is a duty distribution of the current navigation officer
while navigating and communicating between ships when entering the narrow
shipping line in Teluk Adang East Kalimantan in order to avoid the danger of
collision happen that may harm many parties.
In the implementation by the navigation to entering Teluk Adang East
Kalimantan line in MV. OMS Semeru are the way how to control the navigation
while entering the narrow channel in the waters of Teluk Adang East Kalimantan
that already done in appropriate and the role of the captain while navigate the
ship in the waters of Teluk Adang East Kalimantan was done appropriate also .
