The port development Master-plan (RIPP) is a long term planning
instrument that used for new ports and the exist ports for their development plans.
The Master plan (RIP) is indispensable for the port of Tanjung Emas Semarang in
its development, because the flow of the ships and the containers which entered to
the port of Tanjung Emas has increased in each year. So its can cause an
overload on the port.. The purpose of this research are 1). To know the relation
between Development Plan of Tanjung Emas Semarang of short term to container
density. 2). To find out the actions implemented by PT. PELINDO III Semarang
Branch is align with the Master Port Development Plan of Tanjung Emas
Semarang. In this case the researcher used descriptive qualitative method to
describe the object and explained the object that researcher. Moreover in this
research also used observation, interview, and literature study.
From the result of the research that has been done, 1). that every
projection presented in the Master Plan Development (RIP) port of Tanjung Emas
Semarang different with the projection of the ships and the containers flow on
their realization, which means the number of the ships and containers that
entering Tanjung Emas Semarang port is much more than the number of the ships
and containers on the prediction of Master Plan. 2). To solve the problem then an
effort is needed made by PT. Pelindo III (persero) branch of Semarang, that is by
arranging the development of the jetty, the construction of new Container Yard
(Overbragen), the addition of Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) and Automatic Rubber
Tyred Gantry (ARTG), also the addition of the gates on TPKS.
Based on the results of research, researcher gave suggestions 1). It is
recommended that RIPP Tanjung Emas be accelerated and evaluated to prevent
container density and in accordance with port requirements in the future. 2). PT.
Pelindo III (Persero) Semarang branch makes planning for both the budget and
the planning of the land and waters areas before developing.
