The writer decided to choose the tittle of this thesis “Evaluation of loading and
discharging avtur process to prevent the cargo losses in a ship MT. Sinar Yogya”
because the writer attrack about the handling of cargo loading and discharging process.
Of several voyage by MT. Sinar Yogya, the writer felt loading and discharging process
should be evaluated because the difference calculation from the side of ship also the
land due to lost (cargo losses). From the background the writer formulate problems are:
1.) Why happened avtur cargo losses when loading and discharging time in MT. Sinar
Yogya. 2.) The efforts what should be done to reduce the cargo losses.
The basic of teory that the writer use in this thesis is explain about the avtur
loading and discharging process to prevent the losses loading and discharging on port
and also to know about the reason of losses cargo and reducing the losses cargo in MT.
Sinar Yogya. This thesis also explain the loading and discharging process, losses and
cargo.
The methods that the writer use is qualitativ research, so that the writer expose
the result of all the study and the research about an object being obtained.
From this research the writer found the losses could not pressed least because
the procedur still has not been implemented and monitoring procedur for loading and
discharging, also not thorough in measurement and calculate the amount of cargo and
lack of loading and discharging maintenance equipment. To reduce the loading and
discharging losses cargo and improve the loading and discharging monitoring. The
efforts to overcome the obstacle in order to pressing the losses is more thorough in
measurement and calculate the amount of cargo, maintenance loading and discharging
equipment and also to monitoring the loading and disharging process.
The conclusion is losses still occur in MT. Sinar Yogya because the
implementation of loading and discharging not running well and lack of monitoring,
also the obstacle is not thorough in measurement and calculate also lack of loading and
discharging maintenance equipment. Writer suggest with good implementation and
monitoring to overcome the obstacle to make it more thorough in measurement and
calculate also maintenance loading and discharging equipment.
