The main engine is a machine installation consisting of various support
systems and serves to generate thrust against the ship so that the ship can move
forward or backward, the role of water cooling pump is very important to support
the work of the parent machine, because it is necessary to repair and maintenance
which is conducted
Given the importance of seawater cooling pumps, a good maintenance
method is required to optimize the treatment of seawater cooling pumps to support
the work of the main engine. Using the SWOT method (Strengths, Weakness,
Opportunities, Treatment) is a pattern or target structure that supports each other
and complements to direction of the overall goal. In preparation for planning, to
be able to choose and set strategies and targets so that programs and projects are
created effectively and efficiently
From the results of the discussion concluded that the treatment must be
done, check pump suction sucking, leakage packing at the less tightly pump or
leakage on the installation of piping, lack of fat on the bearing. The effort made is
to perform regular maintenance on schedule.
