The background of researcher in making thesis about crack jacket cooling main engine that is caused by frequent researcher in facing problem crack until broken jacket cooling when doing marine practice aboard, science and knowledge which researcher get during practice make researcher interested and willing to pour in thesis this.
Factors of Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats can be seen how to overcome what factors cause cracks in jacket cooling. The SWOT analysis can be applied by analyzing and sorting things that affect the four factors, then applying them in SWOT matrix images, where the application is how the strengths are able to take advantage of existing opportunities, how to overcome weaknesses ( weaknesses) that prevent the advantages of opportunities, then how strengths are able to deal with existing threats, and the last is how to overcome weaknesses that can make threats become real or create a new threat.
The discussion of this thesis explains about factors, impact, how to overcome and prevention efforts. Cracks occur due to lack of maintenance and age of jacket cooling material that has exceeded the working hours limit and also the unstable jacket cooling temperature setting as a cooling coat on the jacket cooling machine is instrumental in maintaining the temperature to improve the performance of the machinery. The state of the jacket cooling crack on board has resulted in a delayed voyage. In the handling there is a composition of the process of countermeasures and the composition of the division of tasks according to the provisions and guidelines that have been made. The researchers concluded that cracking or rupture of jacket cooling can occur in general because of the age of the material that has exceeded the working hour limit and the unstable cooling water temperature.
