LPG consists of butane and propane, which is the charge of gas in liquid form flammable. In case of fire extinguishing equipment required by all specialized and trained crew. Based on the research results, the flames during a fire in the vessel LPG / C Navigator Aries experienced problems due to several factors from factors Human Resources (HR) and of the factors that cause equipment outages are not optimal. The purpose of this study is to determine how the shutdown procedures that should be implemented and know what steps will be undertaken after the fire aboard the LPG/C Navigator Aries.

This research is descriptive qualitative by describing in detail the implementation of a blackout in the LPG ship and constraints encountered and explain the efforts made to overcome these constraints. Among other things that occur during the process of extinction is outages in accordance with the procedure and its slow handling process after the fire, the lack of knowledge at the time of the outage, the lack of checks and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment. Attempts to overcome them by carrying out appropriate extinguishing procedures and fire fighting drill and to increase knowledge of the crew with the introduction and training of fire extinguishers, improve coordination between the ship with relevant parties. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation directly take the form of data loading, photos and videos related to the loading on the vessel LPG / C Navigator Aries.

Conclusion The process of extinguishing fire on board LPG can run smoothly if the extinguishing process implemented in accordance with existing procedures and is supported by a crew of knowledge about the process of extinction in the LPG ship, coordination and good communication during the process of extinction and extinguishers in good condition.
