Main engine Is the main engine of the ship, the motor must get attention and care intensively, One of which is the existence of a good lubrication system in the machine. The function of lubrication in the master machine is to lubricate all the moving parts inside the machine, This is done so that wear and damage to the main components of moving machinery can be prevented as early as possible. This study aims to find the cause of increased viscosity, Due to increased viscosity, and efforts to overcome them. The method used is the method of Urgency, Seriousness, Growth, Which is one of the tools to arrange priority sequence of issues to be solved, by determining the level of urgency, seriousness, and the development of issues by determining 1 - 5 or 1 - 10. Data collection techniques are done through observation, documentation and literature study.

The conclusions of this study are three main reasons why it is possible to increase the viscosity of liner cylinder lubrication due to poor lubricant quality, the impact of increased viscosity to the lubricating system on the parent motor is the fracture of piston rings, liner cylinder wear, damaged piston, and effort to overcome the increase in viscosity Do care and prevention.
