This study aims to design a tool for testing the clamping force of railroad fasteners. This tool is used for checking and testing the clamping force of e-clip rail fastening. Inspection of the fastening system is carried out visually and by using a tool, namely a clamping force meter. Under the requirements stated in PM 60 of 2012, the fastening clamp strength is 900 – 1100 kgf. The results of the design obtained a test tool that is strong, sturdy and functional in measuring fastening clamp strength. The e-clip used as a sample is the rail fastening on the PPI Madiun railway line. The sample used was 20 e-clip fasteners and the average value of fastening clamp strength was 1,627 kgf. Statistical tests carried out include data adequacy tests, data normality tests, and data uniformity tests showing appropriate results.
